VOIX — Participatory democracy through debate on ELBO
VOIX is ELBO's civic and democratic sub-universe, designed to let municipalities, provincial and federal governments, associations, and political parties consult their citizens through structured, measurable, and inclusive debates. VOIX turns public consultations into transparent processes where every citizen can champion their ideas and decision-makers get actionable reports.
VOIX Consultation Modes
VOIX offers six consultation modes: structured consultation (the municipality asks a question, citizens debate, results are compiled for the city council), participatory budgeting (projects presented, debate, vote weighted by argumentative quality), citizens' assembly (50 to 200 selected citizens, structured panels, AI facilitator), public forum (open forum with real-time voting), electoral debate (candidates in a rigorous format with citizen questions), and intercommunity dialogue (non-adversarial format to bring divided communities closer together).
KYC and Residency Verification
VOIX includes an optional KYC system to verify participants' residency during municipal consultations — each citizen can prove they actually live in the city in question before voting or debating. This ensures the integrity of consultations and prevents outside interference.
Government Contracts and Compliance
VOIX offers dedicated contracts for municipalities and governments with GDPR compliance, Canadian hosting, exportable official reports, and integration with existing consultation processes. Data is made available to decision-makers as structured reports that make public consultations genuinely useful.
